Mold Assessment and Mold Testing

Pro Spec Home Inspection is licensed through the New York State Department of Labor as a Mold Assessment Contractor. In addition to our continuing education and certifications, we have over 20 years of experience with home inspections and environmental testing.

The Key to Mold Control is Moisture Control.

Molds are a naturally occurring part of our environment. They play a pivotal role in the outdoor environment breaking down dead organic materials and keeping the environment healthy and productive.

In indoor environments the presence of molds may cause unhealthy conditions for some inhabitants and can lead to the decay and destruction of building materials.

There are thousands of types of molds in our natural environment and none will grow without moisture. Molds reproduce by creating microscopic spores that can become airborne and enter our bodies through inhalation or ingestion.

Many people are susceptible to illnesses and symptoms caused by elevated levels of indoor mold. Pro Spec Home Inspection provides indoor air testing, surface sampling and consultations to residents and businesses throughout Buffalo and Western New York.

If a microbial like growth or condition has been identified.

1. Contact a NYS licensed Mold Assessor for further evaluation.

2. Prior to any cleaning or remediation procedures, a project “Mold Remediation Plan” must be created by the NYS licensed Assessor. The Mold Remediation plan must be given to the client before the remediation begins.

Our mold testing services are also important for those who have recently experienced water damage or for those who are considering remodeling projects. Specialized equipment can be used to detect moisture which is necessary for mold growth. Indoor air testing and surface sampling from Pro Spec Home Inspection can give you more information about the indoor conditions of your home.

Call Pro Spec Home Inspection at 716-868-5712 to schedule an indoor mold assessment.
